Taking Comfort in Action

Just back from the First Unitarian Amnesty International Write a Thon. We gathered in the Parish House and settled down at folding tables to write letters for prisoners of conscience all over the world. It was especially gratifying to write a letter on behalf of Pussy Riot- two of whose members are still in prison for singing a song.

Samy Ndayisaba was this year’s featured speaker, talking about human rights in Congo and Rwanda. It was comforting to be able to do something after this devastating week.

The Providence Journal covered the event.
