Prediction is difficult, especially about the future

Professional psychic, Sylvia Browne, is having to face her own failed statement that kidnapping victim Amanda Berry is communicating from beyond the grave.

Browne announced the death of Amanda Berry in 2004, when she appeared on Williams’ show to tell Berry’s mother, Louwana Miller, that her daughter was “in heaven and on the other side” and that her last words were “goodbye, mom, I love you”. Miller would die a year later of heart failure.

A broken heart, most likely.

While I blame the kidnappers 100% for that, no one should ever jump on a media wave around a tragedy when there’s nothing constructive to add. It’s okay to say, ‘I don’t know.’

For this science-loving pagan, ‘I don’t know’ is the beginning of wisdom.
