Tarot Daily Dot Decoder, Autumnal Equinox 2014

wheel of the year

Today is the first day of Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s a pretty good bet that the weather patterns that brought us cool, pleasant summer days will freeze our garbanzos before long.

A study suggests that ‘comfort food’ doesn’t really change mood. I’m skeptical, my ongoing experimentation suggests otherwise.

Cooler and darker days are good for candle magic. I come up against countless problems I can do little about directly and lighting a candle makes me feel better. Not as good as comfort food, though.

I regard Seasonal Affective Disorder the same way as Mercury Retrograde- an excuse to be the same moody and messed-up person I am in all seasons. But here’s some common-sense tips for keeping equilibrium.

And, if you’ve been wondering what happens to plants on the International Space Station, here’s a detailed description of trying to grow food in microgravity.
Not like ‘Silent Running’.

Right now, I’m feeling a burst of energy as the humidity lifts and the world goes back to school. Fall is a time to turn inward, also a good time to start projects. May your Autumn be blessed.
